Service Technician

We are currently seeking applications from experienced Service Technicians to join our maintenance and repair team based in Hallam, Victoria. We specialise in MRO and product support for Kidde Automatic Fire and Explosion Suppression Systems for commercial aircraft and armoured vehicles.  To be successful in this role you must have proven experience working in a mechanical or electro-mechanical environment as well as the qualities to perform in a regulated environment.

Skills/Competencies/Experience:

  • Trade qualifications in a mechanical/electro-mechanical disciplines;
  • Experience handling and working with high pressure vessels is preferred;
  • Machining experience on mills and lathes;
  • A background in electrical servicing would also be an advantage;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and the ability to read and understand technical data;
  • The ability to maintain documentation of work in progress and to follow written procedures;
  • Capable of working independently with a continuous improvement approach;
  • Ability to use Information Technology packages such as Microsoft Office and maintenance/production software;
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience working within airworthiness rules and regulatory requirements would be an advantage;
  • Dangerous goods and/or extinguishing agent handling Licence (EAHL) would be an advantage;
  • Ability to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Trades Assistant/Painter

A unique opportunity has presented itself as TAE Aerospace are currently seeking a Trades Assistant/Painter to join our Amberley Aluminium Vacuum Brazing (AVB) facility to provide maintenance and painting services for aeronautical products. The successful candidate will join a high output team and predominantly provide painting services, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, a quality and safety focus, and an ability to follow authorised publication manuals and instructions.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Mechanical aptitude and hand skills gained through previous mechanical experience and an ability to be meticulous
  • Ability to prepare metal surfaces for painting in accordance with aviation regulations/procedures
  • Excellent time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to take pride in their work
  • Proven ability to follow established quality inspection procedures on all completed work
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to meet regulatory requirements
  • Technical experience in an aviation maintenance or manufacturing environment and/or engineering production environment preferred
  • Proven experience and results with respect to continuous improvement and resolving problems and opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to use Information Technology packages such as Microsoft

Business Improvement Coordinator

We are currently seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Professional to be an advocate and champion of Lean / CI principles across TAE Aerospace.

Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, this important role will have responsibility to:

  • Actively be involved in building and promoting a continuous improvement culture with a strong focus on improvement sustainability
  • Guide and engage senior stakeholders to own improvement initiatives in their respective areas
  • Facilitate Accelerated Improvement Workshops
  • Understand key business drivers
  • Actively be involved in driving tangible net results in EBITDA improvement
  • Provide superior advocacy for and guidance in the Continuous Improvement journey to Management and Staff, clearly articulating the journey and personally demonstrating the values required to successfully deliver CI initiatives
  • Focus efforts and drive business change by effectively applying an array of Continuous Improvement tools as applicable

Essential Skills/Competencies/Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in transformational program delivery.
  • Hands on approach and ability to review processes, recommend improvements and execute with excellence
  • Sound knowledge of quality management systems
  • Impeccable time management and change management skills, with evidence of seeing projects through to completion
  • Six sigma Green Belt qualified (minimum)
  • Ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance is a requirement.

Chief Inspector

We are currently seeking a Chief Inspector to join the TAE Aerospace, Inc team in Scottsdale, AZ.

JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Inspector is responsible to the Accountable Manager for the overall operation of the Inspection Department and, as such, will have the final authority in the releasing to service of articles as listed on the Capabilities list. In addition, the Chief Inspector is responsible insuring the details of inspection standards, methods and procedures used by the repair station in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer’s specifications and other approved or accepted data.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Supervision of Inspectors assigned to the Inspection Department.
Maintaining a complete records of their inspection.
Maintaining Current Data if so assigned.
Assist Technicians and other Inspectors with Technical Data as requested
The following of the QCM Procedures as applicable
The supervision of Technicians with Inspection authority as related to that inspection authorization.
Ensure procedures are followed for compliance with air carrier continuous airworthiness maintenance procedures and special requirements including RII.
Assist, supervise and direct all personnel assigned to the inspection department.
Ensure records of calibrated tools used by the repair station and technicians are current and maintained on file and all inspection tools are properly labeled.
Determine that no defective, unserviceable, or unairworthy parts are installed in any component or articles released by the repair station.
Submit reports of defects of unairworthy condition in accordance with FAR 145.221
Ensure the proper execution of FAA Forms when required, and/or a maintenance release.
Ensure the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts, supplies and the airworthiness of articles on which work has been performed.
Ensure the preliminary, hidden damage, in process, and final inspection of all articles processed by the repair station are recorded as outlined in this manual.
Oversee the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in the QCM and RSM.
Provide for continuity of inspection responsibility, assuring completion of required inspection when personnel shift or assignment changes occur.
See that rejected and unserviceable parts are handled in such a way as to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts.
Ascertain that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is approved for return to service, and that the proper inspection and maintenance records and forms required for such release are properly executed.
Maintain the Official Roster, signatures and initials and issuance of stamps for the Repair Station.
Ensure there are adequate procedures for compliance with air carrier continuous airworthiness maintenance procedures and special requirements including RII.
Maintain and ensure the Capabilities List is current.
Ensure Air Carrier Training is accomplished as required.
Maintain the Contract Maintenance Vendor List.
Maintain the RSM, QCM and Training Manual Accomplish initial and recurrent training
Lead Safety program to include ensuring adequate safety standards and training
Insure EASA and ISO standards requirements are maintained
Other duties as assigned

Level II NDT Inspector

We are currently seeking a Level II NDT Inspector to join the TAE Aerospace, Inc team in Scottsdale, AZ.

NDT Inspector for FAA 145 certificated Repair Station, predominantly performing maintenance on turbine engines. Experience with Honeywell 331 and P&W PT series turbine engines a plus. NDT Inspector must have experience and be certified as a Level II Inspector for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Magnetic Particle Inspector (PMI).
