As guest speaker at the first MRO Australasia conference to\nbe held in Brisbane (Australia), our CEO Andrew Sanderson shared his insights\ninto the actions required to recover Australia\u2019s competitive position in the global\naerospace supply chain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A full audience engaged in the half-hour presentation at the\nAviation Week conference, as our CEO deep-dived into Australia\u2019s decline from a thriving industry\nin the 1990s. He further discussed our current position in the MRO market and his view on the\nactions required to recover and grow our competitiveness, globally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among his\nrecommendations he noted what we need to do better as an industry. He noted rather\nthan focusing on keeping 100% of the benefits inside one enterprise, we need to\ncollaborate and consider how to share customers, providers, manufacturers and\ngovernments to meet the investment demands of more complex business cases for\ncapability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further recommendations included leveraging skilled people\nworking for us, building support for long-term infrastructure investments by\nmaking the market attractive for local capital markets, focusing on export and\ndiversifying locations to other countries and starting early in new industries,\nsuch as urban mobility or electric engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After sharing what\u2019s ahead for the industry, the audience\nwas left with the final message that the opportunity to restore global\ncompetitiveness and grow our industry exists today. Restoring and growing our\ncompetitiveness in the changing and challenging market requires that we start\nthinking now about the 20 years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
